Can Intel-Powered Ultrabooks Stand Up To iPad?

Tabletlike ultrabooks will hit store shelves this holiday season as Intel (INTC) and allies aim to blunt tablet cannibalization of PCs. But it may be a case of too little, too late for too much, analysts say.At $899 to $999, the first ultrabooks will look and be priced much like Apple's (AAPL) popular MacBook Air portable, analysts say. But, it's Apple's iPad tablet that has roiled the PC industry.
Mobile PC shipments will grow only 6.5% in 2011 vs. about 20% in the prior two years, says market research firm Gartner. Consumers and businesses will snap up some 65 million tablets, mostly iPads, worldwide this year.Smallish netbooks have been especially hard hit. IDC says netbook shipments will fall almost 13% in 2011 and 11.6% in 2012.
Intel, usurped by ARM Holdings (ARMH) in chips for smartphones and tablets, has been pushing PC makers to build thinner and lighter laptops. The new ultrabooks are about 30% lighter and thinner than earlier, comparable models, estimates IDC analyst Bob O'Donnell. The Laptop cases: A must have accessory for laptops .Asian notebook firms Asus and Acer rolled out ultrabooks this month. Lenovo and Toshiba are slated to sell models by year-end.
Most tablets are not using Intel chips or Microsoft (MSFT) operating systems. Profits are shifting to Apple and Google (GOOG) from the "Wintel" camp, says a Goldman Sachs report. But Intel sees an opening, though."We create and we consume," said Erik Reid, general manager of Intel's mobile client platform group. "The PC is the device best able to deliver on both those. Tablets are very much (media) consumption focused. People also want the creation experience, with video or photographs."
Over the next 12 to 18 months, PC makers will strut out ultrabooks with tabletlike features such as touch-screens, longer battery life and rapid restarting. Microsoft's Windows 8 OS, which supports touch-screens, is slated for release next fall. Some ultrabooks will sport GPS and sensor technology similar to tablets. A long product road map concerns some. An Intel processor code-named Haswell that's expected to halve notebooks' power use isn't due out until 2013, says Barclays analyst Ben Reitzes.Intel and PC makers hope to create momentum at January's Consumer Electronics Show. More ultrabooks are due out in mid-2012, in time for the back-to-school shopping season.

BMW M Performance Accessories M3 DTM

“Sneak Preview” in Heidelberg: the BMW M Performance Accessories M3 DTM was presented to selected members of the public, consisting of BMW customers and guests, in Autohaus Krauth in Heidelberg this evening. Two days before the car makes an appearance as part of the season-ending DTM event at the neighbouring Hockenheimring, selected members of the public were given a glimpse of the new livery and traditional M colours.
“Old-school DTM fans will recognise from the typical BMW M stripes that the appearance is based on the original BMW M3 cars from the ‘old DTM’. We are very proud of this design. It is both traditional and modern in equal measures. It shows our roots, but in a contemporary style,” said BMW Motorsport Director, Jens Marquardt, at the unveiling of the BMW M Performance Accessories M3 DTM. Marquardt continued: “The car’s aerodynamics were developed in close collaboration with the engineers from series production. The BMW Group boasts impressive resources in this field and the wind tunnels are ultra-modern.Hot accessories can make your bathroom cool . This – and the Title Partner BMW M Performance Accessories – shows that the entire company is behind the 2012 DTM project and is working hard towards it.”
Host of the evening at the Heidelberg branch of the BMW and MINI Krauth Group was the Krauth family. The Krauth sisters and Marc-Stefan Tepe, Managing Director of the Heidelberg business, are all looking forward to the incoming year. Tepe said: “It is great how the BMW M3 DTM bears such an obvious resemblance to its brother in the production series. That is what is so nice about the DTM: the fans can recognise their car on the racetrack. This link to production is obviously also important for us BMW dealers, as is the partnership with BMW M Performance Accessories. Motorsport is quite simply in the genes of BMW, and that allows the customers to bring that motorsport feel to their BMW car.” The BMW M Performance Accessories range provides numerous possibilities of enhancing the already superb dynamics and fascinating aesthetics of BMW models. The DTM provides the optimum environment for sporty BMW M Performance Accessories, and represents a transfer of know-how in accessories development.
Together with the other two manufacturers involved in the series, BMW will complete demonstration laps with its new cars directly before and after the final race of the 2011 DTM season.

The Laptop cases: A must have accessory for laptops

Most of the time people wouldn’t give much importance to these kind of accessories as they gave for the main things. In our case the customers will give less importance for the laptop accessories when compared to a new laptop before buying it. But the thing is the laptop case is going to protect the main thing i mean the laptop. Like that only all the accessories have their own roles protecting their main things or primary things. In this article I have shared some basic ideas on choosing a laptop Hot accessories.A lot of companies out there giving false information for people regarding their products. So the wise thing is we should snag information’s regarding a product before going to buy one.
The first and the foremost thing you should consider should be the waterproof property of the laptop because the most often the laptops are affected by water only. So its wise to test the laptop case there itself in the store before making the purchase. And the next thing you should consider is the chemical resistant proof on the top of the case. Most of the leather cases will come with this option only. The third thing you should have a serious look is the space inside the bag. If it is used only for carrying a laptop then you can go for ordinary ones, but if you need to put something else like mobile phones or chargers for the laptops. These are the important things you have to take a look before making a buy. I could confirm that the knowledge presented above can give you a real advantage.
The desktop ages are over, and now everywhere laptops have become a part of people in everyday life. The laptop has turned into a must have product while going for offices or while going for some business trips. Hot accessories can make your bathroom cool

I finally talked my husband into redecorating our bathroom. The white tile floor and fixtures are fairly new, so we're not changing them. By keeping our white plumbing fixtures, we can paint the walls any color we want. Also, with the money saved, we would like to install some really nice bathroom accessories. Can you please suggest a few "hot accessories" that will be practical and look nice in our bathroom?
You're in luck! I was speaking at a national kitchen-and-bath trade show this summer, and saw some really nice stuff. Here is my list of three trendy and practical bathroom accessories that can easily be added to any bathroom:
Decorative grab bars — Manufacturers have hit on a winning product by combining the safety aspects of commercial grab bars with the decorative styling of fancy plumbing fixtures. The result is a beautiful accessory that will make your bathtub safer for everyone in the house, and add style as well.Fierce Tablet Competition Forces Tablet Accessory Providers. Decorative grab bars are also a top choice for older people who plan to stay in their present home.
Wall-hung soap dispenser — This is a great accessory for anyone who is tired of having a bottle of liquid soap or a messy bar of soap on the bathroom counter. Plus, many bathroom sinks don't have an extra hole to install an "in-counter"soap dispenser. The slippery solution to both issues is a wall-hung dispenser. Also, if your dispenser is up on the wall, you'll gain more counter space.
Hoteliers — I knew I'd get you with this fancy name for a high-end bathroom tower holder. The name will make more sense when I say that hoteliers are usually found at nice hotels. These decorative multitowel storage shelves offer a classic look, and will open up cabinet space in your bathroom. Many units also have built-in towel racks. So, when you're done showering, all your wet towels will be left high and dry.The wide range of the accessories and car parts allow people adding customized the looks and appeals to their cars. The car parts include gear shift knob, 7 Digital Touch screen dog guards, boot liner, blinds, trunk nets and many others. This kind of parts will not only change the looks of the car, but also improve the car also. Besides, there are some other automotive parts for the car gps navigation and entertainment system, such as indash car dvd gps player, car camera, car parking radar, car headrest monitor and so on.

Rural Kentucky Dealership Becomes Accessories Sales Champion

In late 2010, Toyota presented a challenge to the 8 Toyota dealerships in Dry Ridge's Kentucky and nearby Cincinnati region: increase your accessories sales by 20% within 6 months, by adopting new Internet-based accessories sales tools, and Toyota will reimburse you for half the tool's cost. With almost no experience in accessories sales, Dry Ridge decided to take on this challenge and adopted izmocars' AddOnAuto (AOA), an in-store digital sales tool that allows customers to virtually add or remove car accessories and instantly view them on their vehicle of choice. Not only did they meet the goal, they far exceeded it, achieving 412% of the sales objective. The next runner up achieved only 92% of their sales objective.
The case study demonstrates how the implementation of AOA combined with an innovative sales process and a consumer-friendly environment drove eye-opening results for Dry Ridge. It also highlights how this new focus and process has inspired a culture-change at their store - building unprecedented unity among team members.
"We made [accessories sales] a priority," said Rob Marshall, Dry Ridge Toyota's Dealer Principal. "In 2010, we put in the right accessories sales processes and invested in the right training. As a result, we now sell an accessory of some type to two out of three new-car buyers and to about a third of our used-car buyers for about $700,000 a year in accessories sales."Dry Ridge Toyota's winning process and use of the AOA sales tool is driving $50,000-plus a month in accessories sold with 2 in 3 car buyers converted to accessories purchases. Other results include:
Our also recently released its Midyear 2011 AOA Accessories Trend Report(1), which analyzes accessories sales of dealerships across the country. The AOA report is based on sales data from a diverse sampling of 180 dealerships, representing 13 brands and 5 regions across 30 states. The dealerships studied in this report, in aggregate, sold $10.6 million in accessories in Q2 2011, for a total of over $20 million for the first half of the year. The average dealership analyzed increased accessories sales by $475 per-vehicle-sold, with average gross margins of 47% and average net profit margins of 32.8%, compared to 45% and 28% respectively for all of 2010.

Fierce Tablet Competition Forces Tablet Accessory Providers

This month we have been bombarded with headlines about the current turmoil running rife within the tablet device market. Apple vs Samsung, Samsung vs Apple, Microsoft's new mobile OS vs everyone... It's getting a little nasty.
In early 2011 many of us were surprised to hear that Hewlett-Packard were to withdraw from the tablet market, considering their slump in PC sales; we have since seen massive price reductions on HP tabs with Best Buy offering them in the UK for as little as £89.
RIM's BlackBerry PlayBooks haven't had much more luck either, their manufacturers Quanta have had to reduce staff numbers. In case you didn't know, Quanta is the largest manufacturer of notebooks in the world; they were forced to cut staff at their Taiwanese plant from 3,000 to some 2,000 in the face of declining orders for the 'PlayBook'. The first quarter of 2011 saw shipments of 500,000 devices, whereas the second quarter saw just 200,000 units shipped; making their annual targets of 4-5 million units looking highly unlikely. We have yet to see whether or not they will consider producing a second generation PlayBook considering the poor demand.
To add to the brawl, a court ruling in Germany saw sales of the Samsung Tab 10.1 banned indefinitely across the country in a bitter legal dispute between Samsung and Apple. Samsung is now rumoured to be seeking to ban iPhone 5 sales in Korea with a similar motion after they lost the claim of 'slimmest smartphone' on English soil.
Amidst the fierce legal suits, cruel competition and a fickle consumer market, the companies that provide the accessories for these devices are left to re-think their approach; tactically selecting product lines that they feel will still be with us next year, or indeed developing new product lines to cater for this year's release of the next generation of tablet computers. The continued competition in the tablet computing market hits the online headlines daily, with Mashable.com and Wired.co.uk dedicating entire categories to tablet discussion and news. ComScore, the experts in digital measurement, found Android taking second place as the operating system of choice in Europe, beating Apple's iOS and coming second only to Symbian.
